GFC Hair Treatment in Bengaluru (Bangalore)
GFC stands for growth factor concentrate. Like PRP, it is a non-surgical treatment prepared from your own blood, and it is available at our Bangalore clinic from opening.
How GFC differs from PRP
Both begin with a sample of your own blood. The difference lies in how the sample is processed and what is concentrated from it.
Both treatments start from a sample of your own blood. PRP uses platelet rich plasma itself. GFC is a preparation in which the growth factors are released from the platelets first, so what is injected is a concentrate of those growth factors rather than the platelets.
Which is more appropriate for you is a clinical judgement made at consultation. Both support follicles that are still present, and neither creates hair where the follicle has gone.
Who GFC suits
As with PRP, GFC is generally considered where follicles are present but weakening rather than where hair has been lost entirely. Suitability is assessed at consultation.
GFC is generally considered where follicles are present but weakening. As with PRP, treatment is generally deferred where there is an active scalp infection, a bleeding or platelet disorder, or where medication you take affects clotting.
